Biography

Gotthart M. Hugle was born 1966 in Konstanz, Germany. His early piano teachers were his father, Wolfgang Hugle and later the concert pianist Reinhard Walz. 
Upon completion of High School Studies in conjunction with a Music College, he attended the University of Music in Trossingen. There, he majored in three musical degree programs: Piano (Diploma certificate) in the class of Reinhard Becker, Music Education (First & Second State Examination) and Jazz & Pop Music. Organ as a Minor subject with Georg Schaeffer.

As a part of the degree thesis, he authored: An idea-historical approach to sinfonic works of Gustav Mahler (1994), More efficient working methods for the instrumental practice (1997), Techno – Music and Youth Culture of the 90s – a challenge for the musical education (1998). 

He attended Piano Masterclasses with Prof. Günter Philipp (Dresden) und Prof. Eckart Sellheim (Tempe/USA). 

In addition, he studied at the Universities of Tübingen, Konstanz and the Pedagogical University in Weingarten German Philology, Educational Science and Theology.

Since 1996 he has taught at an academic high school focusing in the subjects of Music, Ethics and Philosophy.  Also, as the organist at a protestant church in Switzerland.

Gotthart has enjoyed working as a conductor of orchestras & big bands, director of musicals, piano accompanist for various soloists and choirs, piano teacher at several music schools and choirmaster.

As a composer he has written piano music, chamber music and songs.  He also enjoys composing Pop and Jazz. Under the pseudonym “Scott Hart” he has worked as keyboarder, studio musician, arranger, songwriter and producer - with several CD releases.
